Quick Review: Anastasia Beverly Hills x Amrezy Highlighter

I purchased this as soon as it was released on the Anastasia Beverly Hills website along with the Soft Glam palette (click for review). I really should have waited until it was released on Beautylish to avoid the ridiculous $17.95 USD shipping fee I had to pay…….ughh the first world problems of a makeup addict. This highlighter can now be purchased from Beautylish for $28 USD.

The highlighter comes in cute black and rose gold packaging with stars embossed on the front. Inside the product has been poured in the shape of waves which gives it that multi toned appearance.

The shade of this highlighter is a yellow gold with no visible glitter particles. It is a thin powder which has a beautiful sophisticated golden sheen that seems to sink into the skin. When you dip a brush into the pan there is no powder kick up whatsoever. The highlighter is versatile as it wore well as eyeshadow, eyeshadow topper or inner corner highlight.

Final thoughts are that the yellow gold shade is nothing new or original but the formula is different to other highlighters in my collection. I have heard this is the same formula as an older ABH highlighter, but I don’t have any in my collection to investigate this claim myself. The price at $28 USD is pretty reasonable in my opinion, check out my review on the Tom Ford¬† Sheer Highlighting Duo for an obscenely priced highlighter!

Overall I rate this product 8/10.

Quick Review: Tom Ford Sheer Highlighting Duo Reflects Gilt

I am a fan of most TomFord makeup……hate the price but love the products! I procrastinated on purchasing the TomFord Reflects Gilt Highlighter for a while but once I saw it in person I bought it straight away……its just so pretty!

I purchased the TomFord Sheer Highlighting Duo Reflects Gilt from David Jones for $123 AUD. It can be purchased from United States Sephora for $80 USD. Even with currency conversion the price mark up in Australia is ridiculous on this product.

The packaging is the typical gorgeous TomFord white and gold, which looks luxurious yet lacks the weight I would expect of a product in this price range (this is due to the fact the packaging is hard plastic rather than a sturdy metal).

Inside the compact are two gorgeous highlighters. The top shade is gold (representing the sunrise) and the bottom is a rose gold (representing the sunset). Both shades swatch quite sheer but when applied on the face they give a gorgeous sheen to the cheeks. There is nothing sheer about this highlight when applied to the face! Both shades work well on the eyelids and for inner corner highlights.

There is no doubt that this is insanely expensive but its TomFord, and nothing beats TomFord when you want to treat yourself!

Overall I rate this product 8.5/10.

I am going to be writing more TomFord product  reviews in the next few weeks so keep an eye out for those if you are interested in other products from the brand. I would love to know what TomFord products you want or love? xxxx

Quick Review: Estee Lauder Illuminating Powder Gelee 01 Heat Wave

As I missed out on it last time, I was so excited to see that Estee Lauder had re-released the Bronze Goddess Illuminating Powder Gelee. I purchased this directly from the Australian Estee Lauder site for $70 plus $5 for shipping as it was not available yet at any other retailers. It can be purchased in the United States at Sephora for $45 USD. The 2018 version differs to the previous release with a different pattern poured within the compact. Both versions are equally beautiful.

The compact itself looks stunning but I was disappointed to find out it is made of a hard plastic rather than metal, this takes away from the lux feel of the product.

The product itself was a beautiful gold highlight which had fine glitters within it to give a soft sheen. The glitters blend away so there is not a noticeable glitter field left on the skin. I found it difficult to apply with a brush so I used my fingers. It looked nice on the skin and also wore well as eye shadow. I am confused by the claim this is an all over bronzer?? On my nc20 skin this is a straight up highlighter.

Overall I rate this product a 7/10.

Let me know if you plan on getting this highlighter? xxx
